SST’s Off The Road (OTR) system known as True Tire Technology (TTT) was developed under a joint venture with Kal Tire Mining Group for deployment on mining haul trucks that operate under extreme conditions. After years of extensive field-testing and enhancements, SST Wireless released the only proven Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) for the OTR market. In fact, our engineers focused on the design and materials used for the sensors, electronic control units (ECUs) and antennas, to meet the extreme conditions of the mines. Simply put, TTT is an industrial grade product.
Our complete Haul Truck kit includes small sensors that are installed inside the tire. The design of the sensors provides significant improvements to durability and offers resistance to tire additives such as Tire Life. In addition, the shape of the sensors increases signal strength and propagation. These sensors monitor tire pressure and temperature to continually relay the information, via radio signals, to the vehicle’s electronic control unit (ECU).
If tire pressure or temperature moves outside normal operating parameters, a warning light on the instrument panel alerts the driver about the problem and the base station which tracks, records and alerts the operator about the entire fleet equipped with TTT. The entire system can be also be integrated with the WENCO dispatch system.
All calculations come directly from tire manufacturers’ specifications. Whether your tires are from Michelin, Bridgestone or Goodyear, TTT makes specific calculations using the manufacturer’s own formulas.
SST’s OTR products are currently in use in mines around the world including Canada, United States, Mexico, Chile and Mozambique. Each operation is monitored and accessible via a password protected website.
